15-year technology veteran to play pivotal role in propelling the
company's digital transformation vision and strategy

(NASDAQ: PRGS) today announced the appointment of Faris Sweis to the
newly-established role of Chief Transformation Officer. In this new
role, Sweis will work closely with the Progress product organization to
craft and deliver on the strategic technological direction for the
entire company, with particular focus on Progress® DigitalFactory™, the
new cloud-based platform that provides a holistic, extensible solution
for businesses to create omni-channel digital experiences. He will also
lead the company's internal digital transformation effort, ensuring its
systems and processes are in a state of continuous improvement so
Progress can best serve its customers and employees.

Previously, Sweis served as Chief Technical Officer for Telerik,
acquired by Progress in December 2014, and was subsequently appointed
Vice President of Engineering for Progress.
Sweis joined Telerik in 2010, when it acquired ArtOfTest, which he
co-founded and served as CTO. Sweis has more than 15 years of experience
in software development, having also served as a software architect and
consultant for companies such as Microsoft and Dell. He received his
Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from Purdue University in
West Lafayette, Indiana. Sweis will report directly to CEO Phil Pead.
